About Us

Thankful Heritage, Inc. (THI) is a 501c3 non-profit organization that features an African American museum filled with a spectacular collection of African American artifacts dating back to the 1700’s. Touring the museum is like taking a trip into a rich history of a people filled with pride and compassion. It depicts a struggle and success of a race and culture that has embedded its stake in the fabric of history. Thankful Heritage also offers a compelling lecture series complimented by a distinctive exhibit of African American art, magazines, books, dolls, slave shackles and hundreds of authentic relics.

Mission

To research and teach African American history thereby enriching the lives of each individual who views the collection or listens to a lecture series. Thankful Heritage, Inc. is devoted to the preservation of African American artistic, cultural and historical materials.

Vision

To encourage the research and study of African American history and to work towards improving race relations in the community.
